Alexandra Eldridge

the art of wandering

[ september 2nd - 18th, 2011 ]

Alexandra Eldridge’s images emerge from a place where contradictions are allowed, paradox reigns and reason is abandoned. In her search for inherent radiance in all things, the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Her works are primal and reflective, presenting an emotional landscape, often inspiring spiritual investigation.
Her new paintings reflect an intimate journey with deep awareness. These works are love letters to the presence of mind while wandering. Venetian plaster finishes capture intimate imaginings through rich color, beautiful textures and a love of the word.

Eldridge’s studies have taken her from Ohio and New York to Europe where she studied at Cambridge and has had residencies in France, Italy and Spain. She currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she is well known and is held in high esteem by artists and collectors. Over the years, Alexandra has had many national and international exhibitions. Her work is included in significant collections around the world.
