OverviewConnie Goldman’s work mirrors the rhythm, structure, space, and relationships in music, architecture, language, and science. Her work reflects the very real human need to know the universe. She utilizes essential means to describe the most basic of natural phenomena, the contradictory forces of stasis and flux. In her work, Goldman addresses the deep human need to stave off the real or perceived chaos in the universe. One of her goals is to create a sense of imperiled equilibrium or balance.

Biography
Using the vocabulary of reductive, geometric abstraction, I make artwork that emphasizes the importance of space, rhythm, structure, and relations. My works are essential and concrete approximations of my intellectual and emotional experiences.
The tendency toward stability opposes the urge toward independence and growth. My work evokes this dynamic. Each of my pieces is analogous to the rhythmic and contradictory forces of stasis and flux that propel my world toward constancy and change.
A shift or change can happen seismically. A shift can occur incrementally. What I’ve learned is that life is constant change. There’s no chance of escaping the push and pull of time and nature. All natural processes both resist and embrace the ebb and flow of existence. Just when equilibrium appears to be achieved, a shift occurs and the scale is tipped once again." -Connie Goldman
