Nüart Gallery presents “Shifting Horizons," an exhibition featuring new work by Hyunmee Lee.
Shifting Horizons explores the profound experiences of change occurring in personal exploration, growth, innovation, and the cyclical nature of existence. Through abstract shapes, lines, and intuitive expression, Lee unleashes a powerful sense of newfound freedom where vibrant, dominant yellows, juxtaposed with traditional black—echoing the Korean camellia—embody resilience and transformation. In Lee’s expressive, minimalistic approach, an arresting, gravitational mass infused with Korean heritage and Western influence builds into a catalyst for personal and collective progress.
Lee's latest series of vibrant paintings represents a culmination of three years of research, experimentation, and personal exploration and continues to incorporate a range of mixed media techniques accompanying acrylic, such as drawing, calligraphy, and collage in pencil, charcoal and pastel.
Through Shifting Horizons I aim to convey a positive message about embracing change and recognizing its potential to bring about transformation and growth," says Hyunmee Lee. "My artwork serves as a reflection of my own journey, inviting others to find their path amid life's constant transformations."
