Nuart Gallery is pleased to present, Fields of Color, a solo exhibition of new works by the artist, Randall Reid. The exhibition will run April 8 through April 27, 2016, with an opening reception on Friday, April 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. The artist will be present.
Randall Reid’s work seeks to give visual form to our relationship with the past. The random circumstances involved with the creation of his work are closely correlated with the physicality of growth and decay, the passage of time, and deeper meanings of existence. Antique materials in a variety of colors, such as rulers, license plates, and salvaged metal, are broken down into simple parts, and reunited into unique abstract compositions to create a rich surface that serves as a portal to the past.
Reid was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1956. He has participated in over 300 exhibitions and is represented in the collections of Katy Contemporary Museum, Art Museum of South Texas, Hoyt Institute of Fine Arts, Austin Museum of Fine Arts, Masur Museum of Fine Arts, and the College of William and Mary. He currently resides in San Marcos, Texas where he has been a Professor of Art and Design at Texas State University San Marcos since 1988.
Opening Reception : May 12 from 5 to 7 pm
Randall will be present to discuss his latest body of work.
