John Tarahteeff’s latest exhibition is titled Lands End. The setting in a liminal place where the land and sea meet, serve as a trope to depict an atmosphere of transition from one state of being to another. The artist like Odysseus, is on a journey of self-discovery embracing a new adventure and landing in expansive visual worlds. The tonal quality of Tarahteeff’s paintings set a mood, wrapped in suspense where his figures interact and the viewer observes. Narrative collapses into classical scenes that are layered with meanings.
