Alexandra Eldridge is known for works that explore the poetic elements of our imagination and remind us that the just beyond reason lies a mystical world of our collective psyche.
In this solo exhibition, The Land of Dreams is Better Far, she takes her title from a line by William Blake and inspiration from a metaphor by Carl Jung. She uses venetian plaster, collage and photographs printed from vintage glass negatives. Eldridge shows us a magical dream world where animals and humans roam freely, morphing into each other and insects whisper secrets to children, all acting as guides to the deeper portals of our consciousness.
